Achilles Tendonitis

Achilles tendonitis (also Achilles tenosynovitis or Achilles tendinopathy) is tendonitis of the Achilles tendon, generally caused by overuse of the affected limb and is more common among athletes training under less than ideal conditions. * As part of your treatment plan, your physician may suggest a heel pad or wedge type orthotic to help relieve the pressure on the tendon.   For further prevention and protection once the tendon is healed, foot orthotics positioning your foot in the correct anatomical position may help protect and reduce the chance of further injury during activity and various sports involvement.
